Pre/Post Natal Assessments

Assessment | 45min | $165

Holistic assessment that covers your physical health and changes during pregnancy including ligament laxity, abdominal separation, pelvic girdle pain and back pain. This also includes safe options for exercise and rehabilitation to keep you moving while pregnant. You can attend any time for musculoskeletal issues. A vaginal exam, pelvic floor check and personalised pelvic floor muscle training program is also included, after 12 weeks of pregnancy.Post-natal we address any issues after birth, a re-assessment of your pelvic floor and updated program. Come in at 2-3 weeks if you have any abdominal separation or a difficult birth, or at 6 weeks post natal for the pelvic floor check if you have no concerns after birth.

Birth Prep

Birth prep | 45min | $165

A Birth Prep appointment to prepare your pelvic floor for birth is recommended from 30 weeks onwards, after your pre-natal assessment in 2nd trimester. We assess your risk of pelvic floor injury during birth, and practice breathing & pushing techniques, and teach you how to do perineal massage. This appointment is essential if planning for a vaginal delivery!

Pessary Fitting

Initial consultation | 90min | $350

Review consultation | 30min | $200

A pessary fitting appointment provides a personalised, non-surgical solution for pelvic organ prolapse and bladder leakage. We assess your symptoms, fit the most appropriate pessary, and ensure it is comfortable, supportive and effective. You'll receive education on caring for your pessary and, if suitable, learn how to remove and reinsert it yourself. Many women find a pessary helps them exercise, work and enjoy everyday activities with greater confidence. Pessary cost is an additional $A50-60 depending on type required. These are really great from 6 weeks postpartum for treating and preventing prolapse.

You will likely need an assessment from your GP to have a pessary fitted and make sure it will be safe and effective for you. We can help with this by writing a letter to your GP for the appropriate assessments, or contact us prior to your initial appointment. If you aren’t sure if you would benefit from a pessary, book an initial pelvic health assessment and we can asses there.

Physiotherapy

With a large focus on exercise rehabilitation, we aim to get you on track to reaching your goals. Our treatment aims to provide long term relief from pelvic floor issues, and ensure that you can maintain your condition without frequent long term visits to see us. A successful physio program to us means you managing things yourself at the end, with an ongoing maintenance plan. We use the most up to date evidence and programs to achieve results faster. Many of our rehab programs have been designed by physiotherapists who are experts in their fields, and treat elite sports people. We expect that our clients will adhere to our programs to achieve their goals, and we will work out ways to increase your participation in exercise.

Pelvic Health

A Women’s Health consultation will go through an in depth history of your symptoms, previous deliveries if you have had children, and potentially look at your fluid intake and diet as these things can all affect our continence and risk/management of prolapse.

We will also decide what other assessments are right for you, which may include a bladder diary and a vaginal/rectal exam if you are comfortable to complete one (not compulsory).

We may use treatments such as therapeutic ultrasound, electrical stimulation to reduce pain or increase muscle contraction (TENS/e-STIMs) and massage/myofascial release techniques.

Our toolbox of treatments is extensive, as we know all client’s are different, and respond to different treatments.

Holistic Healthcare

We treat a large range of conditions, in both men, women and children. This is due to our extensive experience in both private and public settings. If your condition is not listed, please let us know and we will see if we can help.

We emphasise a collaborative approach, working with a network of practitioners to ensure you receive holistic care tailored to your health goals.

We also coordinate with your other healthcare providers to ensure seamless, client-centred care.

While physiotherapy is a key component, it’s part of a larger strategy aimed at achieving overall wellness.
